Nice, you made it through the video! Now that you know how to move around in your Canvas course, let's learn some of things you will need to do in Canvas to complete your courses. First we'll look at Canvas Announcements.
Announcements are used by instructors to:
- remind students of course activities
- share important information regarding Canvas or Chaffey
- notify the class about a change (example: assignment due date extention)
You can set up your Notifications Links to an external site. to email you when Announcements are posted by your instructor.
Viewing Announcements
You will first see Announcements posted by your instructor on the Recent Activity feed when you log into Canvas.
[There are 2 ways to view an announcement in Canvas: 1. At the top of your course Home Page (If your instructor has enabled this option only) OR 2. Clicking the Announcements link on the Course Navigation menu. This page allows you to view and filter announcements in your course.]
In Announcements, you can view all the announcements in your course.
Announcements are listed in reverse chronological order with the newest appearing first and the older announcements appearing towards the bottom.
